Make your own game

Metroline Patrol was built by Prestomoney57 with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Metroline Patrol opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Metroline Patrol

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a playable third-person driving game titled “Metroline Patrol.” The player controls a low-poly police cruiser in a bounded square city grid, viewed from a smooth chase camera positioned behind and slightly above the car. The car should be centered in frame with a visible rear body, dark rear window, pale blue/gray bodywork, rear red taillights, bumper, and a roof-mounted emergency lightbar split into red and blue blocks. Load or model a compact stylized police sedan/cruiser with simple geometric forms and strong shadowing.

Build a 90-by-90 dark wet-asphalt city environment. Cover the ground with a glossy, reflective, subtly noisy asphalt material and lay out a regular grid of thin yellow road stripes, with lines running at 8-unit intervals in both directions. Surround the roads with scattered blocky dark-gray buildings of varied height and width. Add restrained blue-green glass/window panels in horizontal and vertical bands on the building faces. Include a handful of thin street lamps around the grid: dark poles with short arms and small glowing cyan or amber fixtures. Add irregular reflective puddles on the asphalt.

Set the atmosphere to a moody, cinematic rainy city. Use dark blue-gray fog, layered translucent drifting fog sprites, a visible field of falling rain particles, glossy wet-road reflections, soft shadows, and subdued nighttime/neon colors. Support both day and night presentation: start in “CITY GRID / DAY SHIFT” with a blue-gray background, brighter hemisphere and directional lighting; pressing N switches to “CITY GRID / NIGHT SHIFT,” dramatically darkens the sky and fog and reduces the general lighting. Pressing N again returns to day.

Driving must be continuous free-roam patrol rather than track-based racing. Use WASD: W accelerates forward, S reverses/brakes, and A/D steer. Apply acceleration, friction/deceleration, and a speed cap, with normal maximum speed corresponding to about 15 world units per second and reverse limited to about 6; clamp the car inside the approximately -43 to +43 bounds on both X and Z. Holding Shift activates a boost, raising the forward maximum to about 1.55 times normal. The cruiser should turn in the direction of steering based on its current speed and move over the grid. Keep the chase camera smoothly following the car, looking toward its roof/rear area, and prevent it from passing through nearby city geometry by raycasting from the car toward the desired camera position and shortening the camera distance when blocked.

Press E to toggle the emergency response mode. When active, alternate the red and blue lightbar sections rapidly, with matching red/blue point-light flashes around the cruiser, and start a looping siren audio if available. When inactive, the lightbar is unlit and the siren is stopped. On mobile-sized screens, provide translucent touch controls: a four-button directional cluster for W/A/S/D plus E and day/night action buttons; on desktop, show the keyboard controls.

Add a fixed glassy HUD overlay. At the upper left show “METROLINE PATROL,” “CITY GRID / DAY SHIFT” or “CITY GRID / NIGHT SHIFT,” and the emergency state text “LIGHTBAR OFF · E SIREN” or “LIGHTBAR ACTIVE · SIREN ON.” At the upper right show a large three-digit speed readout padded with zeros and the label “MPH,” based on the absolute current speed. At the lower left show an “ACTIVE DISPATCH” panel initially reading “Stand by for a callout...” and replace it after a short delay and periodically thereafter with one randomly selected patrol message such as “Traffic stop requested on 8th and Mercer,” “Vehicle pursuit reported eastbound on Harbor,” “Suspicious vehicle circling the parking deck,” “Officer needs backup near the industrial yard,” or “Hit-and-run suspect last seen downtown.” At the lower right show the instruction line “WASD DRIVE · SHIFT BOOST · E LIGHTS + SIREN · N DAY/NIGHT.” Use rounded translucent navy panels, thin pale-blue borders, compact uppercase labels, cool white text, and a restrained police-interface aesthetic. The primary experience is driving around the rainy illuminated city while monitoring changing dispatch callouts and toggling patrol lights/siren.
