Make your own game

Homeland Watch was built by rapdreams22 with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Homeland Watch opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Homeland Watch

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a playable low-poly 3D third-person defense game titled “Homeland Watch.” The setting is a stylized river valley: a large flat green grass ground plane, a vertical blue-green river running through the right side of the world, pale teal sky/background with light fog, soft shadows, scattered blocky cube-world trees and rocks, and a short wooden fence/outpost near the player. Use a fixed-follow third-person camera behind and slightly above the player, with smooth movement and a warm, toy-like low-poly aesthetic.

The player is a small stylized worker/guardian character starting on the left side of the valley at approximately (-12, 0, 12), facing into the play area. Give the character a yellow-green head covering/headband with small feather-like details, dark clothing, a brown vest/backpack, and a visible simple wooden bow. Player movement is controlled with WASD or arrow keys; support jumping if using the same third-person controller feel. On touch devices, provide the large circular DEFEND button at the bottom-right. Spacebar or tapping DEFEND fires an arrow.

Place three marked construction/home sites along the river’s left bank/right side of the valley, at roughly (7,-13), (7,0), and (7,13). Each site visibly consists of a rectangular construction slab/pad, four upright wooden corner posts, and a small raised sign. These are the settlers’ construction targets. Spawn worker/settler NPCs from the far right edge around x=18, at random z positions spanning roughly -18 to 18. Use varied male and female low-poly worker models. Each settler continuously walks toward one randomly selected home site, with a slow movement speed around 1.5–2 units/sec. When a settler reaches within about 2.2 units of its assigned site, it begins advancing that site’s construction progress. A site is captured after roughly 100 progress points (about 14 seconds of uninterrupted work), then the settler disappears, the site becomes inactive, and the player loses 25 homeland health. Limit the number of simultaneously active settlers to eight and spawn them periodically, initially after about two seconds and then every 1.4–3.5 seconds depending on defended score.

The player’s defense attack selects the nearest living settler within 13 units. If no settler is in range, show the message “No settler in range — move closer.” If in range, reduce that settler’s 100 HP by 50 and create a visibly flying arrow from the player toward the target; the arrow should have a brown shaft and pale metal/conical tip and travel for about one second. Two successful attacks kill/drive back a settler, hide that NPC, increment the defended score, and show a brief message such as “Settler driven back · 1 defended.” Do not damage targets outside the 13-unit range. The attack should also work from the Space key.

Victory occurs when the player has defended six settlers. Defeat occurs when homeland health reaches zero, or when all three construction sites have been taken. Stop gameplay and show a centered dark translucent end overlay with a card, title “The valley stands” and the message “The building crews turned back. Your homeland remains protected.” on victory; on defeat use title “The valley is lost” and explain that too many construction sites were taken. Include a “Play again” button that reloads/resets the game.

Build the HUD to match the screenshot: a top-left dark translucent rounded rectangular panel with a thin tan border and shadow, heading “HOMELAND WATCH” in bold uppercase, descriptive text “Protect the river valley while three home sites are marked for construction.”, a gold status line showing the current sites standing and settlers turned back (for example “Sites standing: 3/3 · Settlers turned back: 0”), and a horizontal homeland health bar below it, initially full with a muted orange fill. Center the bottom hint in a dark rounded box: “WASD / arrows to move · Space or tap the bow to defend”. Put the round brown DEFEND button with cream border and bold white text at bottom-right. Make the interface responsive, moving the hint upward on coarse/touch screens so it does not overlap the button. Use ambient hemisphere light, a warm directional sun, a cool fill light, shadows, and fog to preserve the soft illustrated low-poly appearance.
