Make your own game

Desert Drift was built by s240054 with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Desert Drift opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Desert Drift

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-playable low-poly 3D racing game titled "Desert Drift" using Three.js or an equivalent 3D engine. The camera is a smooth third-person chase camera behind and above the player kart, with a wide perspective view; follow the kart as it drives around a compact oval desert circuit. Use a stylized, flat-shaded, low-poly aesthetic with warm sandy colors, simple Lambert-style lighting, visible soft shadows, and a dark brown/near-black sky/background. The world should have a large pale sand ground plane, several flattened low-poly dune mounds outside the course, scattered short and tall green cacti, and chunky low-poly brown rocks. The player is a small toy-like gray/white go-kart with a rounded front and visible dark circular grille/details, positioned on the track at the start.

Build the circuit as an oval/ellipse approximately 25 units wide-radius by 12 units deep-radius, made from a broad muted brown-gray sandy road about 7.5 units wide. The road can be a faceted sampled ellipse rather than a smooth spline. Put continuous low dark-brown rectangular barrier blocks along both the inner and outer edges of the oval, about 0.9 units high, with visibly segmented/faceted geometry. Place a pale yellow rectangular finish-line marker across the road near the left side of the oval. Use four sequential checkpoint locations around the oval (roughly left-front/start, right-front, right-back, left-back); only advance laps after passing them in order. The game is a three-lap time trial: begin at LAP 1 / 3, track the current lap time, and record/display the best completed lap time. Completing a lap briefly displays "LAP COMPLETE!" in the center. The lap display should remain capped at 3 / 3 as in the original HUD even if the underlying lap counter continues.

Controls: WASD or arrow keys drive. Up/W accelerates forward, Down/S applies reverse/braking, Left/A and Right/D steer. Steering rotates the kart, with normal steering around 2.6 radians per second; use stronger steering around 4.8 while drifting. Space (also left Shift) activates drifting only while steering and moving faster than roughly 3.5 speed units. Drifting should reduce lateral grip, let the kart slide, tilt/lean it sideways, and create small tan dust particles behind it. While drifting, charge a drift-boost meter at about 55 units per second, up to 100; when drift is released after charging beyond roughly 32, consume the charge and trigger an approximately 1.7-second boost. During boost, give the kart a higher maximum speed (about 29 versus normal 17.5) and extra forward acceleration, provided the player is accelerating. Normal forward acceleration is about 13, drifting acceleration about 7.5, and reverse acceleration about 7. Apply drag and capped speed so the kart feels arcade-like. If the kart leaves the oval road band, strongly slow it and gently push it back toward the ellipse; also keep it within loose world bounds of about x -55..55 and z -35..35. Press R to reset the kart to the start, clear velocity and boost, and reset lap/checkpoint timing.

Implement a top-left HUD in large cream/off-white text with a subtle dark shadow, matching this exact information layout: "LAP 1 / 3", "TIME 0.00", "BEST --" initially, "SPEED 0", then "DRIFT BOOST" and a horizontal boost bar. The bar is about 120 by 8 pixels, has a dark brown background and cream outline, and fills orange as drift charge accumulates; make it brighter yellow while the boost is active. Speed should be shown as an integer derived from kart velocity, and best time should change from -- after the first completed lap. At the bottom-left, show the instruction text: "WASD / Arrows: Drive SPACE: Drift for boost R: Reset" in muted tan with a dark shadow. Use responsive resizing and basic touch support if possible: left side of the screen steers left, right side steers right, center accelerates, and a multi-touch gesture enables drift. Do not add weapons, opponents, coins, extra tracks, health, or menus; this is a solitary lap racing/drifting time trial focused on driving, checkpoint progression, dust, and boost management.
