Create a browser-playable 3D arcade racing game titled “Desert Drift.” Use a Three.js-style WebGL scene with a perspective third-person chase camera following a small stylized low-poly kart from behind and slightly above. The kart is a compact purple/gray go-kart with a round driver/face visible, using a Kenney kart model if available. The camera should smoothly follow at roughly 13.5 units behind and 6.5 units above the kart, looking toward a point about 2.2 units above it. Setting and visual style: a sparse desert at dusk/night with a large flat sandy ochre ground plane, dark/black sky, warm beige-brown fog, soft desert lighting, shadows, and simple low-poly geometry. Build an oval loop track approximately 64 units wide and 36 units deep. The road is made from many low-poly brown rectangular segments forming the oval, about 7.5 units wide, with continuous dark brown raised block curbs/walls on both sides. Add a pale start/finish strip across the road at the back of the loop. Scatter simple desert props outside and near the track: tall and short cacti and chunky rocks. At least some rocks are collision obstacles, including rocks around the outer areas and a few near the inner area. Use warm tan/brown materials and flat shading, with cast and receive shadows. Core gameplay: the player drives around the oval for three laps. Start near the back of the circuit at approximately (0, 0.65, -17), with the kart initially stationary. Use W/S or Up/Down to accelerate and reverse/brake, and A/D or Left/Right to steer. Forward acceleration raises speed toward a normal maximum of about 38 world units/sec; reverse can reach about -12. Release acceleration to apply friction/coasting. Steering should be speed-sensitive, and the kart should turn more strongly while drifting. Keep the kart constrained to the track: when it leaves the road area, slow it heavily and gently push it back toward the center of the circuit. Colliding with rock obstacles should push the kart away and reverse/reduce its speed. Drifting and boost: holding Space activates drift mode. While drifting, increase steering response, reduce forward motion and apply extra drag; steering should also create a sideways slide. Spawn small tan/golden dust particle bursts behind/around the kart while steering during a drift, with particles rising briefly and fading. Build a drift meter internally while drifting. When Space is released after enough drift (more than roughly 2.2 drift points), trigger a temporary boost lasting about 3.2 seconds, increasing acceleration/top speed by approximately 1.55x. Show the boost charge/activity in a bottom-center horizontal bar labeled “DRIFT BOOST”; the bar is empty/dark normally and fills bright yellow while the boost is active. Lap rules: place four invisible sequential checkpoints around the oval. The player must pass them in order; after the fourth checkpoint, increment the lap count, up to three laps. Display the current lap as “LAP: 1 / 3” initially, advancing as completed laps are recorded. Do not add opponents, weapons, health, timers, menus, or other unshown gameplay systems. HUD: overlay the 3D view with a minimal monospace white HUD and subtle black text shadow. Put “SPEED: 0” at the upper left and update it to an integer based on absolute vehicle speed (roughly actual speed times 2.8). Put “LAP: 1 / 3” at the upper right. At the bottom center, show the “DRIFT BOOST” label above the boost bar. At the lower right, show the instruction text “WASD / Arrows: Drive SPACE: Drift.” Use semi-transparent dark rectangular HUD backgrounds for the speed, lap, and boost elements. Keep the game full-screen and responsive to window resizing.
