Make your own game

College Gridiron was built by James Johnson with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix College Gridiron opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for College Gridiron

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Rebuild a desktop-first responsive web game called “College Gridiron Ultimate” (brand/title can be presented as College Gridiron). It is a dark, polished college-football collectible-card team manager and seeded game simulator, not an on-field action game. Use a deep navy/near-black background with subtle radial glow, slate-blue panels with rounded corners and thin blue-gray borders, bold white typography, and gold/yellow as the primary accent. The visual reference is a premium sports-management dashboard: a top header, vertical navigation rail, large hero card, stat tiles, and collectible player cards.

Overall shell: fixed-height top bar with a gold rounded-square “CG” logo at left and, on larger screens, the title “COLLEGE GRIDIRON ULTIMATE” plus the small subtitle “2026 COLLECT · BUILD · SIMULATE.” At right show pill counters for the coin balance (default 2,400) and lineup overall (default 87). Below, use a two-column layout with a left sidebar and scrollable content area. Sidebar navigation items, each with a simple icon and label: Home, My Team, Collection, Packs, Marketplace, Play Games, Season, Statistics, Settings. Active navigation has a darker blue highlighted button and a gold inset stripe. On narrow screens collapse the sidebar to icon-only buttons, hide the brand text, and use responsive single-column layouts.

Home page: show a large two-column hero section. The left hero panel has gold uppercase eyebrow “2026 SEASON HUB,” a large heading “Build your program. Win on Saturdays.”, explanatory copy about collecting verified 2026 roster records, building a lineup, and running seeded college-football simulations, and two buttons: gold “Open a pack” and blue “Simulate game.” The right hero panel centers a large featured collectible card for Marcel Reed. Below, show four metric panels: Team Overall, Collection count out of total player records, Season Record (wins-losses), and Photo Coverage (0% with text that official photo import is pending). Add a “Featured cards” section with a View collection button and a grid of player cards.

Player-card system: cards are tall 2:3 rounded rectangles with strong gradient backgrounds based on school and rarity, a thin rarity-colored border, subtle light/radial overlays, hover lift, and no real photographs. Each card uses an explicit unavailable-photo treatment: a translucent abstract silhouette/oval and large initials rather than a synthetic likeness. At top left display OVR, at top right position in a dark badge. At bottom display player name, school and season, rarity, and jersey number. Support these exact loaded 2026 roster records and schools: Texas A&M (TAMU, maroon/white, SEC): Marcel Reed QB #10 91 Elite; Mario Craver WR #1 88 Rare; Rueben Owens II RB #4 87 Rare; DJ Hicks DT #5 86 Uncommon. Alabama (ALA, crimson/white, SEC): AK Dear RB #0 84 Uncommon; Yhonzae Pierre LB #0 85 Uncommon; Zabien Brown CB #2 86 Rare; Keon Sabb S #3 87 Rare. Oregon (ORE, green/yellow, Big Ten): Jordon Davison RB #0 89 Epic; Dakorien Moore WR #1 88 Rare; Bear Alexander DL #1 87 Rare; Na’eem Offord DB #2 84 Uncommon. Ohio State (OSU, scarlet/gray, Big Ten): Earl Little Jr. DB #7 86 Rare; Will Howard QB #18 90 Elite. Cards are clickable and open a modal with card detail, school/position/number/class/season, rarity and OVR, a two-column attribute grid, and a note that roster verification is based on the named school roster source, ratings are original estimates, and the photo is an unavailable placeholder.

Collection page: provide a “Your vault / Card Collection” heading, owned-card count, and filter panel with player search, school dropdown, position dropdown, and sorting by Overall, Name, or Rarity. Display owned cards in a responsive grid and show an empty state if filters match nothing. Persist progress locally in browser storage. Default owned cards are Marcel Reed, Mario Craver, Rueben Owens II, DJ Hicks, AK Dear, Zabien Brown, and Jordon Davison; duplicates are allowed and remain separate copies.

Packs page: show three pack panels. Starter Pack is FREE and reveals 3 cards, labeled “one guaranteed Uncommon,” with displayed odds Common 55%, Uncommon 35%, Rare 10%. Standard Pack costs 600 coins and reveals 3 cards, with displayed odds Common 35%, Uncommon 40%, Rare 20%, Epic 5%. Premium Pack costs 1,400 coins and reveals 4 cards, with displayed odds Uncommon 35%, Rare 45%, Epic 15%, Elite 5%. Each has an Open pack button. Opening deducts the price, selects cards from the roster pool, adds them to owned collection (including duplicates), records a unique transaction ID/history entry, saves locally, and opens a reveal modal showing all cards and a Done button that returns to collection. Show a transaction-safety information panel. Use the displayed odds as UI copy; preserve the simple roster-pool reward behavior.

My Team page: title “Depth chart,” an Auto-fill best lineup button, metric tiles for Total OVR, Offense, Defense, and selected school theme. The lineup has six starter slots: QB, RB, WR, DT, LB, CB. Each slot shows position, selected player/open slot, and Change. Beside it show an Owned pool listing cards with position/name/OVR and Assign buttons. Assignment maps DB/S to CB and DL to DT where appropriate; auto-fill chooses the highest OVR eligible owned card. Team overall is the rounded average of the six selected player ratings, using 65 for an empty slot.

Play Games page: create a “Saturday simulator” screen with Start seeded game, a scoreboard panel, and a play-by-play panel. The home team is the user profile team name (default “Aggie Select”) with dynamic lineup OVR; opponent is “Oregon Select” with OVR 87. Show a clock/status, score line, Simulate next play and Simulate to final buttons, and a scrollable log. Starting a game generates a seed, initializes score, clock at 15:00, drives, field position, and enables controls. Each next play advances a deterministic seeded simulation and logs realistic text such as run, pass, or turnover, naming the configured QB/RB/WR and showing quarter/time and yards. Plays alternate home/away drives, can end in punt, field goal, touchdown, or turnover, and finish when the clock expires or the play cap is reached. “Simulate to final” repeatedly advances plays. On completion show FINAL, disable controls, update season wins/losses/games, save a result against Oregon Select with score, yards, seed, and WIN/LOSS label, and add a simulation history entry.

Season page: show “Road to the playoff,” a 2026 ruleset pill, and a schedule table for five weeks: Oregon Select, Alabama Select, Ohio State Select, Texas Select, LSU Select. Each row shows conference simulation mode and Upcoming or the stored result. Add a postseason tracker explaining that wins qualify for the bracket and a progress bar based on games played; tournament/championship brackets are described as locked until the core season record is established.

Statistics page: show metric tiles for games played, points for, total yards, and seeded runs/history entries. Below, show a recent-results table with opponent, score, seed, and outcome, or an empty prompt to play a game.

Marketplace page: label it “Local exchange,” explain it is a simulated in-game listing pool and not connected to real users or real-money payments. List cards not currently owned, each with card visual and a purchase button. Price cards using the implemented formula: 250 + max(0, OVR - 75) * 35 + rarity rank * 90, where rarity ranks Common 1, Uncommon 2, Rare 3, Epic 4, Elite 5. Buying deducts coins, adds the card, records history, saves, and shows a toast; insufficient funds show an error toast.

Settings page: provide editable team name and school theme dropdown for Texas A&M, Alabama, or Oregon, plus Save profile. Include local save controls: Export save JSON, Import save JSON via pasted JSON, and Reset save with confirmation. Explain that progress is versioned browser-local storage and not cloud synced. Show data coverage text: 14 verified 2026 roster records loaded, 0 verified photographs, and unavailable-photo placeholders. Include transient bottom-right toast notifications and modal overlays with click-outside close behavior.

Use local state for currency (default 2400), owned IDs, favorites/history/results, lineup, season record, profile, and settings. Keep the overall aesthetic consistent: navy #07111e background, panels around #0d1b2c/#12263b, white text, muted blue-gray secondary text, gold #f4b942 accent, green success, red danger, rounded 10–18px controls/panels, subtle shadows, and responsive breakpoints around 900px and 560px. Avoid inventing an action football field, player likenesses, multiplayer, real-money payments, or unlisted gameplay modes; the core playable loop is collect cards, configure a six-slot lineup, buy/open packs, and run seeded text-based football simulations.
