Make your own game

Choir Isle was built by Micah Rivadeneyra with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Choir Isle opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Choir Isle

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a 3D monster music island builder game inspired by My Singing Monsters. Use an orthographic front-facing camera that makes the scene look like a flat stage. The game is set on floating island platforms made of colorful rock blocks with brown cliff sides, decorated with palm trees, bushes, mushrooms, and flowers.

The core mechanic: buy cute animated monster characters from a shop (displayed as cards showing emoji, name, and coin cost) or breed them using two placed parents. Click the island to place a monster; each monster adds a synced musical part to the song loop (bass hum, chirp, cluck snare, shell drum, ghost pad, maraca vox, jaw clap, spore wobble, air flutter, crystal bell, sweet warble). Monsters are rendered as 3D models from the Quaternius Cute Animated Monsters pack, but displayed at extreme shallow depth (like 2D cutouts standing upright). Each monster has a colored oval ground sticker, a white name badge with colored border floating above it, and an animated musical note sprite that bobs and pulses when singing.

Seven monsters can be bought from the shop: Bloop (alien, free starter, purple), Buzzbit (bee, 35 coins, yellow), Clucko (chicken, 55 coins), Snips (crab, 70 coins, red-orange), Wooo (ghost, 85 coins, light blue), Prickle (cactus, 100 coins, green), and Jawbeater (130 coins, brown - this one is a custom 2D sprite showing a chunky character with a cracked shell head, big fists, sleepy eyes, and rocky jaw beard). Four additional monsters are breed-only and exclusive to specific islands: Shroomer (mushroom, purple, Plant Island), Puffbat (bat, blue, Air Island), Frosthorn (yeti, purple-white, Crystal Island), and Cthoola (tentacle creature, pink, Candy Island).

The HUD shows coins (gold coin emoji and count), a "Collect" button with pending coin count, a timer showing "Free Play", Parts progress (X/11), and a progress bar filling with pink gradient. At the bottom are shop cards for purchasable monsters. On the right side: "Collect" button, "Mute" button, and "Solo" button. At the top: "Shop", "Map", and "Breed" buttons (which open different panels). A white rounded text box displays instructions and feedback messages.

Controls: Click a shop monster card to select it, then click the island to place it (costs coins). Click a placed monster to select it (shows cyan selection ring). Drag a selected monster to move it around the island. The "Collect" button converts pending coins (earned every 4 beats by singing monsters) into spendable coins. "Mute" silences the selected monster (shrinks it slightly). "Solo" plays only the selected monster. The "Breed" button opens a breeding panel where you pick Parent 1 and Parent 2 from placed monsters, then spend 40 coins to breed a new monster based on recipes (or get a random missing monster). The "Map" button opens an island selector showing Plant, Candy, Air, and Crystal islands.

Island travel: Four themed islands are available. Plant Island has green tiles, blue-green sky, grass decorations, and palm trees. Candy Island has pink tiles, pink sky, and food props like cupcakes, ice cream, birthday cake, and donuts. Air Island has white-blue tiles, light blue sky, cloud-like puffs (whipped cream models), and delicate flowers. Crystal Island has purple-tinted tiles, purple sky, and purple-tinted mushroom and bush decorations. When you travel to a new island, all placed monsters follow and reform into a wide stage formation across the island (like a choir on risers). Each island has a breed-only secret monster that can only be obtained by breeding on that specific island.

The game loop: monsters generate coins over time (shown as floating "+2", "+3" etc. text sprites that rise and fade). Use coins to buy more monsters or breed. The goal is to collect all 11 unique monster types to reach 100% completion. No win screen appears at 100% - the game continues as a free-play sandbox where you can rearrange monsters, mute/solo parts, travel between islands, and mix the music.

Visual style: bright, colorful, cartoonish. Soft shadows, warm lighting from directional sun and hemisphere light. Monsters appear as standing 2D cutouts (3D models flattened on Z-axis) with subtle bobbing animation. Background uses colored fog matching the island theme. Assets are from Kenney Nature Kit and Food Kit for environment, Quaternius Cute Animated Monsters for creatures.

Audio: browser-generated WebAudio synthesis with MSM-style synchronized song loop at 96 BPM, 16-beat phrases. Each monster has a unique instrumental or vocal part (sine waves, triangle waves, sawtooth formant-filtered vowels, filtered noise hits). Island backing includes soft kick drums, offbeat hi-hat sparkles, chord pads, and layered melodic touches. All parts sync to the master beat grid.

Tutorial overlay appears on startup with three steps explaining shop/breeding/island-map mechanics. Loading screen shows while 3D models load. Debug functions exposed: window.getGameState(), window.setGameState(patch), window.travelToIsland(id).
