Make your own game

Chai Cafe Merge was built by Amit with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Chai Cafe Merge opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Recreate a cozy 3D casual puzzle game titled “Chai Cafe Merge.” Use a browser-friendly Three.js-style scene with an orthographic-feeling perspective camera looking down at a small wooden cafe counter from the front, with a warm peach/tan street floor, horizontal pavement stripes, a pale cafe wall in the background, blue-green windows, a central brown door, and a red-and-cream striped awning. Use soft directional shadows, warm pastel lighting, rounded cream UI panels, chunky friendly typography, and low-poly Kenney-style food/furniture models. The camera should frame the entire 5-by-5 counter board and three customer tables along the back/front edge, while order cards float above/follow the three tables in screen space.

Core gameplay is a limited-supply merge-and-serve puzzle. The play board is a 5x5 grid of alternating light tan tiles on a dark wooden slab. At the beginning of each level, place two tier-0 starter items of the first order’s type near the bottom of the grid. The two item chains are:
- Tea: green Tea Leaf → ceramic Cup → Tea Cup → Kettle.
- Pastry: Flour bag → Bun → Cupcake → Cake.
Only identical items of the same chain and tier merge, and a merge creates the next tier on the target tile. Items can also be dragged to empty tiles to organize them, or dragged onto a different item to swap positions. Tier 3 items cannot merge further. Drag an item onto one of the three customer order cards/tables to serve it, but only if its type and tier exactly match that customer’s requested item. A successful serving removes the item, awards coins based on tier (tier 0: 0, tier 1: 5, tier 2: 12, tier 3: 30), and advances the order queue into the freed table slot after a short delay.

Add limited supplies at the bottom HUD: a green “Leaves” button and orange/brown “Flour” button, each showing remaining quantity. Clicking/tapping one spawns a tier-0 item in an available board cell, subtracts one supply, and counts as an extra move. Supplies are finite and each level gives the required number of base ingredients plus a level-specific slack amount. If there is no supply or no empty tile, show a temporary tip and a soft failure sound. Add wooden crates as blocked cells on later levels; a merge immediately orthogonally adjacent to a crate breaks the crate, frees its cell, awards 2 coins, and produces a small burst effect.

Implement 10 levels with these exact order patterns, crate counts, and slack values (orders use chain type and tier):
1. tea tier 1, tea tier 1; slack 3; 0 crates.
2. pastry tier 1, tea tier 1, pastry tier 1; slack 3; 0 crates.
3. tea tier 2, pastry tier 1; slack 3; 1 crate.
4. pastry tier 2, tea tier 1, tea tier 2; slack 3; 2 crates.
5. tea tier 2, pastry tier 2, tea tier 1, pastry tier 1; slack 2; 3 crates.
6. tea tier 3, pastry tier 1; slack 2; 3 crates.
7. pastry tier 3, tea tier 2, tea tier 1; slack 2; 4 crates.
8. tea tier 3, pastry tier 2, pastry tier 2; slack 1; 5 crates.
9. pastry tier 3, tea tier 3, tea tier 1; slack 1; 5 crates.
10. tea tier 3, pastry tier 3, tea tier 2, pastry tier 2, tea tier 1; slack 1; 6 crates.
Show up to three active orders at once, each as a cream rounded card with an emoji/icon, item name, and coin reward, positioned above the corresponding customer table. The three tables should be furnished with low-poly tables and two chairs each. The requested item should also appear as a small rotating 3D preview on the table. Order cards should enlarge/highlight when an item is dragged over them, shake on an incorrect delivery, and disappear/scale down when successfully served.

The win condition is completing all orders. At the end of a level show a “Level Complete!” result screen with stars, coins earned, extra moves, and current cafe decor count. Award 3 stars for 0–2 extra moves, 2 stars for 3–6, and 1 star for 7 or more; add a 5-coin star bonus per star. If supplies make the remaining orders impossible, or if the board is full with no possible merge or service, show a failure result such as “Out of supplies” or “The counter is full,” with zero/empty stars and retry/next options. Persist total coins and best stars per level in local storage. The level-select screen should show all 10 level buttons with earned/empty stars, total stars out of 30, coins, and unlocked decor count; levels are selectable from the grid.

Use coins to progressively show five cafe decor groups at costs 30, 90, 180, 300, and 450 total coins. The decor groups are small tables/chairs with, respectively, a cake, pot/kettle, cupcake, tea cup, or bun placed in the cafe background. Newly unlocked decor should pop in with golden particles. Show a final “MISSION COMPLETED” screen after finishing level 10 with total stars and coins.

Controls: support touch/mouse dragging directly on the board; tapping Leaves or Flour spawns supplies. Also support keyboard: arrow keys move a red cursor, Space/Enter picks up and drops a board item, T spawns tea leaves, F spawns flour, number keys 1–3 serve a held item to the corresponding table, P/Escape pauses, M toggles mute, and H/? opens help. Include a title screen with the title “Chai Cafe Merge,” subtitle “Run a cosy little street cafe. Merge tea and pastries, serve your guests, and make the cafe lovely,” and Play/How to Play buttons. The help screen must explain both chains, matching merges, serving, crates, limited supplies, coins/decor, and keyboard controls. Include pause, retry, home, level-select, result, and next buttons.

Add warm, gentle feedback: soft ambient chord-pad music with a mute button; distinct subtle sounds for picking, dropping, spawning, merging, serving, bad actions, crate breaking, clicks, and victory; small haptic feedback where available; item pop-in and bobbing animations; drag lift and glide-back-to-cell behavior; green hover ring, red keyboard cursor ring, animated pointing-hand tutorial hint for the first starter merge; floating “Cup!”, “Tea Cup!”, “+coins” text; colorful particle bursts on merges, serving, crate breaks, decor unlocks, and completion; and a slight camera shake for major actions. Keep the interface responsive on mobile, with cream/brown/orange/green styling matching the cozy cafe screenshot, and never add combat, timers, or unrelated mechanics.
