Make your own game

Brave Little Light was built by Hudson Peterson with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Brave Little Light opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Brave Little Light

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a browser-based 3D third-person exploration game titled "Brave Little Light". The game takes place in a dark, enclosed square room called "The Room Under the Bed": a 24x24 floor surrounded by four solid walls, with a nearly black-purple background and fog. Use moody low-key lighting: dark brown-purple floor and walls, cool pale moonlight, a subtle purple point-light glow, soft shadows, and a cinematic but simple stylized low-poly look. Place a few shadowy square block obstacles inside the room, plus several barrels around the perimeter and a visible axe prop near the middle-right area. The player is a small child character in a third-person camera, initially near the back of the room, with idle animation. The camera follows behind the child and supports mouse/touch drag look; movement is relative to the camera.

The game begins with a full-screen dark radial-gradient overlay and centered bordered story card. Show the title "The Room Under the Bed", the text "A child’s fear has taken shape. Explore the dark, gather the lost memories, and stand your ground when the monster comes.", and an "Enter the dark" button. The game only starts after clicking that button (also allow Enter). Once started, show the message "The room is listening. Find the blue memories." and remove the intro overlay.

Core objective: explore the room and collect exactly three floating blue memories. Put them at approximately (-7,-6), (6,-6), and (-6,7) in the room. Each memory is a glowing pale-blue faceted crystal/icosahedron hovering around waist height, surrounded by a thin horizontal luminous ring; make them slowly rotate and bob. When the child comes within about 1.5 world units, collect the memory, hide it, increase the collection count, and display these messages in order: "A bedtime song.", "A hand held tight.", and "A small light in the dark." After all three are collected, change the objective to "Face the monster and press E." and enable the final encounter.

A floating ghost-skull monster starts near the center/back of the room. Before all memories are found, it should drift laterally and hover, but not chase the player. After all three memories are collected and the player is within roughly 9 units, the monster slowly moves toward the child, continually faces the child, and bobs vertically. When it comes within roughly 4.2 units, update the objective to "Press E to shine your courage." Press E to use courage only when all memories are collected and the player is close enough. Each successful use reduces the monster's fear by one and increases the courage meter, showing messages such as "You face the fear. Keep shining." and then "The monster is shrinking. One last breath." Require three courage uses total while standing near the monster. On the final use, hide the monster and show the victory overlay.

The HUD is fixed over the 3D scene. In the upper-left, use a translucent near-black purple panel with a fine muted-purple border and soft purple shadow. Display uppercase spaced heading "BRAVE LITTLE LIGHT", objective text, the controls line "Move: WASD / arrows · Look: drag · Jump: Space · Courage: E", a horizontal dark meter with a pale blue-to-lavender fill that grows from 0 to 100%, and "Memories 0 / 3" updating as items are collected. Show temporary bottom-center message boxes with translucent black-purple background, light text, and a thin muted border. If E is pressed before collecting all memories, show "The light is faint. Find all three memories first." If the player is too far from the monster, show "There is nothing here to face yet." or, when within medium range, "Get closer. The monster can feel your courage."

Movement must support WASD and arrow keys, jumping with Space, gravity, and collision/room navigation appropriate for the enclosed environment. The child should move at about 4 units per second with a jump impulse around 8 and gravity around -22. Provide mouse/touch drag camera look. Use animated GLTF-style low-poly characters: a child player and a floating Ghost_Skull-style monster, with idle animations and cast/receive shadows. The monster should be visually distinct from the blue memories and be hidden when defeated.

On winning, display a full-screen translucent dark-blue overlay with a centered bordered card. Show heading "You Stayed", text "The monster was never stronger than your courage. The dark is still dark — but it no longer owns you.", and a "Face it again" button that reloads/restarts the experience. Preserve the overall visual language from the reference: Georgia-like serif typography, pale lavender/white text, thin lavender borders, dark navy-black and purple palette, restrained glow, and an atmospheric child-horror storybook presentation. Do not add weapons, combat attacks, health, score, timer, additional collectibles, or other objectives beyond the three memories and the courage interaction.
