Make your own game

Arkham Gate was built with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix Arkham Gate opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for Arkham Gate

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a small interactive 3D atmospheric scene titled “Arkham Gate,” implemented as a Three.js/WebGL experience. It is a static nighttime city entrance viewed from an orbiting, elevated perspective rather than a character-controlled game: the only interaction is dragging on the canvas to look around. Start the camera at approximately (0, 4.3, 13), with a 48-degree perspective field of view, looking toward the center of the gate at about y=3.1. Use a dark navy-black background and matching fog extending from roughly 16 to 34 units, with a cinematic but low-poly/urban-kit appearance. Enable soft shadows, ACES filmic tone mapping, and a modestly bright exposure.

Build the environment on a large dark gray, rough ground plane representing a wet/rain-slick street. Place a slightly lighter rectangular street slab centered under the entrance, about 6.8 units wide and 18 units deep. At the back, create a distant gothic skyline: a row of blocky dark blue-gray towers along z=-6, with varying heights around 3–7 units and occasional narrow spires rising above them. Frame the entrance with two large dark blue-gray rectangular gate pillars, each roughly 1.15 x 5.6 x 1.15, positioned left and right at x=-4.1 and x=4.1, and connect them with a broad horizontal beam around y=5.35, approximately 9.2 x 0.9 x 1.15. Keep the geometry simple, boxy, shadow-casting, and nearly silhouetted against the night.

The visual focal point is a large illuminated welcome sign suspended in front of the gate. Make a rectangular sign approximately 6.9 units wide by 1.72 high and very shallow in depth, positioned around (0, 4.05, 1.95). Its face should be a generated texture with a very dark burgundy/plum background, a warm ochre/gold outer border and a thinner darker inner border, and glowing serif lettering in two centered lines: “WELCOME TO” and “ARKHAM CITY.” Use large bold Georgia-like serif typography with warm pale gold/orange glow. Give the sign a warm reddish emissive material and illuminate it with a nearby warm orange point light around (0, 4.4, 1.4), so it stands out against the cold blue moonlight. Add two thin brown/gold sign posts descending from the sign near x=-2.65 and x=2.65.

Add four modular metal urban fence sections in the foreground/entrance area as side details: two on the left around x=-3.2 and -2.2 and two on the right around x=2.2 and 3.2, at approximately z=1.2. They should look like dark green-black barred fence panels with pale concrete or metal posts, cast shadows, and be loaded from or visually reproduce a simple retro urban fence asset. Leave a broad opening in the middle beneath the sign; there is no visible player, weapon, enemy, collision challenge, scoring, health, or objective beyond looking around the scene.

Set up cool ambient hemisphere lighting (bluish sky and very dark ground) and a strong cool bluish directional moonlight from the upper left/front, with shadows enabled. Add approximately 700 small bluish translucent rain particles distributed above and around the street. Animate them falling vertically at about 7 units per second, recycling each drop to y=12 when it reaches the ground, creating visible nighttime rain. The ground and city should remain dark, with the sign’s warm glow providing the main color contrast.

Implement pointer/touch dragging on the rendered canvas: while held, horizontal movement rotates the camera orbit yaw at roughly 0.004 radians per pixel and vertical movement changes pitch at roughly 0.003 radians per pixel. Clamp pitch approximately between -0.4 and 0.35 radians; continuously update the camera to orbit at radius 13 around the gate and look toward the sign/entrance. Support pointer capture and release cleanly. Include a fixed, non-interactive lower-center HUD hint reading “DRAG TO LOOK AROUND” in uppercase system sans-serif, small (about 13px), light blue-gray, letter-spaced and partially transparent. Make the page fullscreen with no scrollbars and resize the renderer/camera on window resize. The finished result should feel like a moody, rainy, gothic welcome tableau—an interactive 3D establishing shot, not an action game.
