Make your own game

After Closing was built by meritasuen with the Cinevva game creator: describe the game you want in chat, watch it get built, and play it in your browser minutes later.

Remix After Closing opens the real game in the creator and forks its actual files, chat and design doc, so you start from the code rather than from a description.

Read the build brief for After Closing

Cinevva's analyzer read this game's design doc and its source, then wrote the brief below. "Make your own" hands it to the game creator as your opening message, so you start from a real spec rather than a one-line idea.

Create a first-person atmospheric horror exploration game titled "After Closing." Begin with a full-screen intro overlay on a black/dark brown background: centered bordered card, large spaced uppercase title AFTER CLOSING, the text "The ovens are cold. The chairs are still warm. Find the back door before the restaurant remembers you.", and an outlined button labeled ENTER THE RESTAURANT. Beneath it show the control hint "Desktop: WASD + mouse · Mobile: left joystick + drag to look." Clicking the button dismisses the overlay and starts the first-person experience, requesting mouse pointer lock on desktop.

Set the scene inside a large, empty, abandoned pizzeria/restaurant at night. Use a black background and extremely low ambient visibility with exponential black fog. Build a rectangular room approximately 28 units wide, 30 units deep, and 5.8 units high, with dark brown walls, a nearly black brown floor, ceiling, and enclosing front/back/side walls. Add subtle dark red architectural accents: five long ceiling beams, a service counter toward the back, a kitchen divider, and a shadowy red back-wall arch. Place sparse furniture silhouettes: three long dining tables distributed through the room, a table lamp at the left rear/side, a decorated bench at the right side, and a coffin-like prop in the kitchen area. Use simple low-poly/furniture assets or equivalent blocky models, with no visible characters, enemies, combat, inventory, score, or health system.

The camera is a 72-degree perspective first-person camera, starting near the front of the room at about eye height, facing into the restaurant. The player moves freely with WASD and looks with the mouse; on touch devices provide a left virtual joystick for movement and drag/swipe looking. Movement speed is about 3.25 units/second, with no jumping. Keep the camera/player around eye height and use ordinary FPS-style room navigation. The intended atmospheric objective is to explore and find the back door, but implement the observed core loop as dark free exploration; there is no coded win trigger or back-door interaction in the source.

The only meaningful illumination is a warm, narrow flashlight/spotlight attached just in front of and slightly below the camera, aimed straight ahead. It should cast soft shadows and reveal only a limited cone of the room, with a warm off-white color, range around 38 units, and a fairly tight beam. Keep the rest of the restaurant almost completely black. Make the flashlight subtly pulse like a dying battery and occasionally dip in intensity briefly; do not add an on/off flashlight control because none is implemented. Add very subtle camera sway/roll while moving/playing.

Overlay a restrained horror HUD: top-left text "PIZZERIA 13 · 02:17 AM" in small uppercase, widely spaced muted gray-beige serif lettering; a tiny circular crosshair at screen center with a faint border/glow; and bottom-center text "KEEP THE LIGHT ON" in similarly spaced uppercase muted gray-beige serif type. Apply a heavy vignette over the whole view, transparent in the center and nearly black at the edges. The visual style should be minimalist, cinematic, oppressive, desaturated black/brown/red, with soft shadowed low-poly geometry and lots of darkness. Ensure the game is playable on both desktop and mobile and that the intro overlay is the initial state.
