Animated GLB to Blender demo
Checked November 7, 2026 in Blender 5.0.1

Files
character-source.glb: Quaternius Casual Female, with a rig and 17 animations.
character-walk.glb: the newly exported single-walk example.
CC0-QUATERNIUS.txt: Quaternius CC0 1.0 license notice.

Try it
1. Start an empty Blender scene. File > Import > glTF 2.0, then open
   character-source.glb.
2. Select the Armature. Open Dope Sheet > Action Editor and choose Walk.
If an action-slot selector appears, use the imported armature's slot.
3. Mute other NLA tracks so another clip does not blend into the chosen walk.
Play or scrub the action. Check both the mesh deformation and the colors.
4. File > Export > glTF 2.0. Set the format to glTF Binary (.glb), enable
animation, and choose Animation Mode > Active actions merged.
In this empty example scene, export the entire scene. If using Selected
Objects instead, include the armature and all of the character's mesh parts.
5. Save with a new filename. Open another empty scene and import that output.
The supplied character-walk.glb has one clip named Animation. Play it again
and check that all the parts and colors survived the round-trip.

Where it comes from
Casual Female is from Quaternius's Ultimate Animated Character Pack, CC0:
https://quaternius.com/packs/ultimatedanimatedcharacter.html
The original Cinevva catalog copy is available at:
https://cdn.cinevva.com/assets/packs/quaternius/ultimate-animated-characters/Casual_Female.glb
The model uses material colors and needs no external texture images.

What was checked
The original 17-clip file was freshly imported. Walk was selected and sampled,
then exported into a new GLB and independently reimported. Both files retained
6,624 triangles, 23 joints and 6 materials. The exported file contains one
animation. Mesh deformation was sampled at 13 points in each file.
The short video is a render of the exact downloadable exported GLB.

Limits
The character already had a rig and Walk animation. No new rig, retargeting,
AI model generation or paid service was used. Removing 16 animations makes the
file smaller; this is not compression of the same full animation content.
Blender 5.0.1 was tested. Unity, Unreal and Godot were not tested.
